Saturday Morning Junior XC Training

Early Autumn  Saturday Morning Junior Cross Country Training.

With us having now reached the end of a very busy Track Season we now turn our attention to developing stamina for the forthcoming XC Season. We will again arrange regular meetings for off-road training, which we will need to wrap around a number of scheduled events that occur during the period of October. We are aiming to extend these runs to not only include our young and energetic junior runners, but also our senior fellow members and parents who may like to undertake a Saturday morning group social run. We will retain our 9.30 AM start time for the season ahead, with runs being between 5-8 KM, including some hill reps (with us looking for shorter loops for our younger members), the session will last just over an hour.

With the Hampshire League allowing those with dates of birth before 31/08/2006 to compete and with XC relays scheduled in October, we have a couple of blank sessions during October. For those unable to attend these fixtures perhaps one of the local Parkruns could prove a suitable alternative option. Please do let Mark, or Peter know if you are interested in competing for PAC in either Hampshire or Wessex XC League to help us with registration.

We are keen to recruit team managers to help with The Wessex League, & would welcome help as we host the initial Wessex League at Learoyd Rd on 9/10. Please see Mark if you can help.

All the regular venues from last year have been included this time, any ideas for new routes please let us know. We also aim to run monthly long endurance runs for older athletes.
