Poole AC have become the first club in Dorset to be awarded the prestigious Clubmark acceditation from Sport England.
The award recognises Poole AC as a quality club and is the result of hard work 'behind the scenes' of several members of the club and all its coaches, committee members and parent volunteers.
To achieve this award the Club needed to prove and be audited on its quality of delivery of athletics and running to its members and the wider community, and represents the committment many have towards the club in their desire to see the club and its members succeed at all levels.
The awarding of Clubmark signals the beginning of a new era for the Club, with many exciting ventures to be announced shortly that will propel the Club even further forward.

Zalando Sports Wear When embarking on any kind of athletic training, it is important to consider the potential damage you could be causing to your muscles, limbs and joints due to the impact and strain you put them under during such concentrated exercise. To protect your body as far as you can, and even just to feel comfortable and help prevent pain you could get towards the end of an intense session, you should wear suitable sportswear (http://www.zalando.co.uk/sports-home/) and shoes that have been designed to deal with this kind of physical pressure. Whether you are weight training, circuit training, running on the track or on roads, it is important to have supportive, flexible and breathable clothes and shoes. Just as warming your muscles up and down before and after exercise via stretching will increase your mobility and help prevent muscle injury, so will the right clothing and shoes absorb perspiration and provide vital support for your body and most importantly for your feet and ankles. A fantastic all round training shoe perfect for the gym is the Nike Free XT Everyday Fit + (http://www.zalando.co.uk/nike-free-xt-everyday-fit-trainers-grey-ni1-qzw-0162-99.html) line, which provides plenty of cushioning and allows for a natural, flexible motion. Wear with some Adidas trainer socks (http://www.zalando.co.uk/adidas-trainer-liners-white-ad542b00n-002.html) to keep your feet comfortable and sweat free at all times! New technology for the manufacture of sports equipment and clothing is constantly being developed, so make sure you get some good advice to find the type of trainer or training clothes that will work best for you as an individual. Aside from all this serious talk of injury though, what is most important is to remember that athletics, whatever your level, should be healthy and fun, so for more advice on getting started, talk to your local athletics club, or join the Run Englandhttp://www.runengland.org/ initiative and do your bit to get the nation on their feet! more ...
